Binyam Gebrekidan Gebre
Binyam Gebrekidan Gebre is appointed as ESR in CLARA at the Language Archive Group of the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics from September 1, 2010 to August 31, 2013.
Research
His research involves the investigation and application of machine learning algorithms in facilitating multi-media annotations. His task is to develop algorithms and applications (aka recognizers) to detect and analyze gestures from video recordings. More information can be found in the AVATecH project.
Education Background
In June 2010, he completed an Erasmus Mundus masters programme in Natural Language Processing and Human Language Technology from the Université de Franche-Comté (France) and the University of Wolverhampton (UK). He worked on HMM, SVM, CRF and Brill-based POS tagging methods for Amharic. His publications can be found here:

In June 2007, he received a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Mekelle Institute of Technology.
