Jianqiang Ma is appointed as ESR at the University of Tübingen, Germany from April, 2011 for 2 years.

His research is situated in the subproject Finite-state Parsing Methods of CLARA. The work will focus on investigation of Chinese morphology from a computational perspective and creation of a Chinese morphological parser that can analyze the internal structures and syntactic categories of Chinese words. The parser combines both linguistically motivated rules and data-driven statistical learning techniques, which utilize and/or extend finite state models.
